KüKa: World Cuisine from Refugees for Refugees

A man and a woman cook together.

Every week, refugees and volunteers meet in the Human Rights Centre to cook together.

KüKa: World Cuisine in Karlsruhe!

Whether curry, couscous or potato: cooking and eating together is fun!

Every fortnight, refugees have the opportunity to cook and eat together at the Human Rights Centre. It goes without saying that delicious food from all over the world is served – from curry to couscous to spaghetti! In addition, there are lively conversations, exchanges, conviviality and the familiar feeling of being able to cook yourself. Because there are no cooking facilities in the initial reception centres.

Experienced volunteers accompany the participants. On average, twelve people take part – children can also accompany their parents and join in. After cooking together, the participants eat, wash up and clean up. The project is financed by donations from the Rotary Club Karlsruhe-Fächerstadt and is free of charge for the refugees.
