Invitation to Charity Event

ERDA, Eritrean Relief and Development Association, Karlsruhe e.V., in cooperation with Freundeskreis Asyl Karlsruhe e.V., invites you to a charity event for the project “Mai Selam”. The goal of this project is to provide a clean water pump to two villages in the conflict-ridden Ethiopia-Eritrea border region.

Film and Presentation

The film “Serving the Truth” (length: 30 minutes) was filmed in Eritrea in December 2011 without official authorisation. Director Gerhard Faul depicts the East African nation under military dictatorship, a situation that in the years up to the present day has caused especially young Eritreans to flee their country and head north. A presentation by Job Maasho about the project, as well as a discussion surrounding the causes of flight from Eritrea and the situation in refugee camps in Ethiopia, will follow the film screening. Refugees currently living in Germany lend their voices to the discussion.

Job Maasho, chairman of the Eritrean Relief and Development Association (ERDA), Karlsruhe e.V.

Injera-Buffet

The culinary program of the evening consists of an Ethiopian-Eritrean Injera buffet with various side dishes and a traditional coffee ceremony.
